Boozt boosts logistics with AutoStore
Swedish fashion giant Boozt will boost logistics with AutoStore.
Boozt Fashion AB has signed a contract with Element Logic AB for delivery of the Automatic Storage and Retrieval System AutoStore to their new central warehouse in Ängelholm, Sweden.
Leading e-commerce with warehouse of the future
Since its inception in 2009, Boozt has grown to become one of the leading online fashion boutiques. In step with strong growth, growing demands on economies of scale, and the pressure on warehousing and logistics increased. Now, a highly modern and fully automated warehouse of approximately 42,000 square meters is being established, which will ensure the market’s fastest delivery and returns processing. As a central part of this warehouse Element Logic will deliver the Automated Storage and Retrieval System AutoStore. With 130,000 boxes and 130 robots it will be the largest installation in Scandinavia, and will handle approximately 90% of the goods flow through the warehouse.
Every month, Boozt sends out 400,000 products to their customers and plans on that these number will increase drastically. That is why they invest forcefully in AutoStore. This automation at Boozt can be seen as a first step towards optimizing warehouse capacity, productivity and a decrease of fulfillment costs.
“AutoStore will give the possibility to compress current warehouse space down to 1/3 of the space required today. At the same time we expect a more than 100 procent increased efficiency for pick & pack processes by implementing these 130 robots.” says COO Niels Hemmingsen.
The automation will be established in Boozt’ new warehouse facility in Ängelholm, Sweden, where it is possible to further expand the AutoStore solution. Boozt is looking forward to a long-term cooperation with Element Logic.
EWMS® and AutoStore – “the e-commerce booster”
Like Boozt, Element Logic is also experiencing a strong growth in recent years, especially with AutoStore, and particularly within retail and e-commerce.
“The fact that Boozt now has chosen Element Logic as their system integrator for automation is a clear recognition of us as one of the leading system integrators in the Nordic market,” says Håvard Hallås, sales director at Element Logic.
“We are of course extremely proud and humbled to have the opportunity to work with such a leading player as Boozt. We both compete in tough markets with strong international competition. But with our common dedication to effective logistics, we are very motivated for this partnership to enhance both companies’ competitiveness and take both of us to new levels of warehouse logistics and e-commerce.” concludes Hallås.
Boozt’ choice of AutoStore is largely based on the following factors: good use of warehouse space, high capacity and good possibilities to expand the system in step with Boozt’ high growth rate. Additionaly, the short time to implementation and possibilities with integration between systems (WMS and EWMS) have been crucial for Boozt’ choice. Chosing Element Logic as system integrator grants Boozt the much needed security that systems will live up to it’s high requirements.
